Hon Salisu Yusuf Majigiri: His Six Months In Office

Just ten months after the Supreme Court has settled the controversy over the February 25, 2023 House of Representatives election in Mashi/Dutsi federal constituency of Katsina State, Hon Salisu Yusuf Majigiri has set indelible marks as a legislator.

It would be recalled that the chief justice of Nigeria, Justice Oluwakayode Ariwoola, in his judgement declared Hon Salisu Yusuf Majigiri, as the duly elected representative of the constituency.

Within the last six months of his being in office, he had performed wonderfully in various sectors. This is to set the agenda of what he is planning for his constituency. 

His good works goes across the several sectors of the society that include education, health, welfare, infrastructure and others. 
However, it is worthy of mention that his effort towards alleviating poverty among individuals cannot be overemphasized. Judging by the current economic hardship, which is taking a toll among the people, he has really performed well.

He has sponsored about 20 youths to acquire skills at the Dan Lawal Skill Acquisition Center in Katsina and provided them with start up kits. 
He had sponsored about 100 JAMB candidates to be trained on the computer based examination. 

He facilitated the founding of a NECO center at College of Arabic and Islamic Studies. 
Hon Salisu Yusuf had sponsored several students for WAEC/NECO from Government Day Secondary School Kasanki, Dutsi and others. 

Some of the communities that have stopped getting power supply die to lack of transformers, a situation that has killed a lot of micro businesses, the powerful legislator is soon to save their situation by not only providing transformers for them, but also repairing the system. 

Places like Marke, Dundiyal, Kasanki, B/Kuka, Majigiri, Dandana, among others have benefited from this magnanimous gesture of Hon Salisu Yusuf Other beneficiaries also include Manawa, Tamilo, Tsamiyal Layu and Doguru who are now connected again. 

About 100 youths from his constituency benefit from admissions he secured for them at the Isah Kaita College of Education. 
Still in the education sector, he paid JAMB fees for no fewer than 100 students to encourage them. 

He had also performed handsomely in the health sector by directly supporting individuals and paying for their treatments. A particular incident that took the public attention was how he paid for the treatment of one late Saminu, a teacher by profession, at the Federal Medical Center Katsina. 

He had resolved the problem of potable water in some affected communities under his constituency especially Makau Kauye. 
The legislator had also supported 1000 men and women with start up capitals to support their small scale businesses. 

In Mashi and Dutsi, about 10 persons have benefited with tricycles to encourage their transportation businesses and make them self dependent. In like manner 60 skilled persons have been provided with machines to support their businesses. 

On the side of the community, he had provided doors and windows for the construction of a Mosque at Kwanar Hamza in Dutsi. 
He also completed an abandoned building of a Juma’at Mosque at Kansaki.

With his big heart, he had provided palliative to 500 beneficiaries in his constituency to ease the hardship of the people. 

These and very many others, too numerous to mention, are part of the achievements of this powerful legislator within a period of six months.
